In 1996, after completing the equivalent of the now Certificate III in Fitness, Terry participated at a Fitlink fitness convention held at Griffith University, Brisbane. There, he attempted a 'Power Jam' class presented by Luis Pinto of Mega Jam. Unfortunately, he failed miserably, but nevertheless was inspired to keep trying and eventually to take up dance as a part time career. Many dance classes followed, including one year in a full-time dance course with Brisbane Dance Centre. The styles that Terry had covered by that point were ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, flamenco, hip hop, funk, and break-dancing. It was several years later that he was introduced to the world of Latin Dance. He trained in styles like Merengue, Salsa, Salsa Rueda, Forro, Samba, Zouk and Gafieira. However, he chose to focus on Salsa, Salsa Rueda and Zouk, styles which he promotes and teaches currently.
Whilst his dancing ability was taking shape, the aerobics side continued with ferocity, at times teaching 20 classes a week. He also managed to reach National and World Level in aerobics competitions. These days, you can find him teaching 100% his own unique style at Riverside Fitness, Toowong.
During all these years, Terry has perfected the art of music editing for Body Builders, Dancers and Aerobic Teachers.
Foreign Languages are his other passion in life and after 22 years of studying French (including over 1 year living and working in France) and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in French, Spanish and Japanese, he is in the process of completing a Graduate Diploma in Translation from French to English.
This is how Tra.D.A. came to exist. Welcome!
